MEETING CODES

All meetings are CLOSED unless otherwise indicated
  • In support of A.A.'s singleness of purpose, attendance at closed meetings is limited to persons who have a desire to stop drinking. If you think you have a problem with alcohol, you are welcome to attend this meeting.

OPEN  - OPEN MEETING STATEMENT OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS This is an open meeting ofAlcoholicsAnonymous. We are glad you are all here — especially newcomers. In keeping with our singleness of purpose and our Third Tradition which states that “The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking,” we ask that all who participate confine their discussion to their problems with alcohol.

HC - indicates the meeting is handicap accessible

All meetings are non-smoking

BB - Big Book Study
  • The book Alcoholic Anonymous (the Big Book) is the text for these meetings. The group usually supplies copies of the book for attendees to read. If you would like to make notations in the text, bringing a personal copy is useful.
CU - Call Up
  • A chairperson calls up various attendees. (Usually newcomers are not called up and passing is always an option)
D - Discussion
  • A chairperson is designated for a meeting; the chairperson speaks briefly about their "experience, strength and hope". Following this the chairperson may suggest a topic for sharing by other attendees.  Again, people can pass if they do not wish to share.
RT - Round Table
  • A chairperson begins the meeting and a discussion follows where each person is usually allowed to share about the topic or pass.
SC - Step Class
  • The meeting focuses on the 12 Steps.
